Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) on Microsoft SQL Server 2000 candidates need to pass three core exams and one elective exam that provide a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise in the implementation and administration of Microsoft SQL Server databases. MCDBAs on Microsoft SQL Server 2000 are not required to pass Microsoft Windows Server 2003 exams to retain MCDBA certification. The Microsoft Windows 2000 Server exams and the Windows Server 2003 exams for the MCDBA on SQL Server 2000 certification remain available concurrently. MCDBA Training How to Earn Your MCDBA MCDBA Candidates 1. To obtain the MCDBA Certification you are required to pass one SQL Server administration exam. * MCDBA Exam 70–228: Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition 2. Following completion of the exam 70-228, candidates should take the following exam focusing on SQL Server design: * MCDBA Exam 70–229: Designing and Implementing Databases with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition 3. In addition, MCDBA candidates must take one Windows Server 2003 exam to fulfill the networking systems core requirement. It is as follows: * MCDBA Exam 70–290: Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment 4. Finally, MCDBA candidates must take one elective exam.
